About Matfit Lab

Matfit lab is designed to empower and enhance the Pilates practice at any level. However it can be applied to all other exercise modalities. 

I have found the following assessment tools beneficial to my clients and professional athletes alike.   

My workshops and private sessions focus on Assess, Mobilize and Heal the principles of Contrology - laid out by Jospeh Pilates early 1920’s- he called his system Contrology- emphasizing control whether on his Mat or on one of his many pieces of equipment. 

Assess each client/participant- through mobility tools left behind by Joseph Pilates: his, eye chart and his direct instructions. Simple, easy to follow eye exercises are incorporated into the pilates gym to optimize the nervous system. 

Mobilize- measure each joint functional range, and facia restrictions, plus a look at Joseph Pilates 10 point fitness test and learn to apply these measures to the pilates equipment. 

Heal - evaluate before and after!

3 Day Schedule

  • Day 1, Thurs 16 April
    Joseph Pilates 10 Point Fitness Test, Fascia Importance & Joint gliding

    • Morning - meet and greet 🙏

      Self assess - neuro - do eye drill reassess, 

      look at blind spot -eye chart 

      Joseph Pilates 10 point fitness test at any age  test - with the mat class sprinkled in 

      Fascia importance - release, train , heal- hydrate 

    • Afternoon - Mobility -  Joint gliding - iso - retest 

       feet ,hands , knees elbows 

  • Day 2 , Fri 17 April
    Daily Moves

    • Morning - daily moves- shoulders,shoulder blades 

    • Afternoon - hips

  • Day 3 - Sat 18 April
    Mobilise the Spine

    • Morning: Daily moves 

      Mobilize the Spine-  morning pelvis lumber 

    • Afternoon- T- Spine, Cervical 

      Put it all together contrology - progressive loading 


      Each seminar 3.0 hours 

      2 seminars a day morning and evening = 6.0 hours total of lecture and participation
